I’m Nick.  It’s nice to meet you!

Nick Tatakis is an award-winning photographer based in Burlington, VT and consistently captures beautiful photographs for his clients.

From an early age, Nick has been drawn to the magical instrument of the camera and its ability to represent reality in extraordinary ways. If he’s being honest, he doesn’t understand how everyone isn’t obsessed with photography. But maybe that’s how one knows how they’ve found their passion.

Whether from personal experience or community connection, Nick knows how special certain moments of life are; he’s thrilled to capture these moments in photographs. Nick works with individuals, couples, families, and businesses to capture photos that thrill them, as well.

my photo philosophy

Nick’s photography philosophy is grounded in the simple belief that reality is remarkable. Sure, photoshoots are often curated and styled, but you are remarkable for who you are and the story you want to share. The best photography invites reflection.

When taking photographs, you’re setting an intention to create a record of your unique experience and share your perspective. It is Nick’s humble opinion that your unique story deserves to be photographed.

As a queer person, Nick works to make his photography services accessible to those who want it and especially for people with historically marginalized identities. As a former non-profit employee and current small business owner, Nick respects the entrepreneurial spirit and particularly enjoys working with small and local businesses.

 FAQs

  • To my knowledge, there is no such thing as a left-handed camera lens!

    Being left handed, I’ve encountered close to the gamut of nonsensical left-hander jokes (think: a “left-handed screwdriver”). I landed on LEFT HANDED LENS because I think photos are the product of experiences. At the end of the day, I want to bring into the world photos that reflect you and your experiences.

    Let’s make your photos unique, joyful … and maybe even a tad nonsensical!

  • I primarily serve clients in northwest Vermont but will happily photograph you at the location of your choosing! Photoshoot locations outside northwest Vermont may incur a travel fee.

  • Depending on the service you select (and therefore the number of photos you are receiving), photo processing will take up to 14 days. When photos are ready, they will be sent to you via Google Drive for download.

  • All services include digital photographs with use privileges and unlimited downloads.

    For specialty prints, I recommend contacting LeZot Camera, a print shop in downtown Burlington, VT.

  • I am not a boudoir or newborn photographer. Dog photos can be successful, cat photos not so much.
